    2020 Banyule Children’s Gift Appeal for the month of November

    We are proud to be a part of the 2020 Banyule Children’s Gift Appeal. This important community program has been running for over 20 years to provide quality new gifts, toys and vouchers to local children and families experiencing financial hardship.

    In 2019, 475 local children received gifts, all thanks to community donations. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many families so there are more children experiencing disadvantage this year.

    There are a number of ways that we can support the 2020 Children’s Gift Appeal which will be running for the month of November.

    You can donate a new toy for a primary aged child

    We will be collecting quality new toys at school during November as a part of the 2020 Children’s Gift Appeal. Your children can bring these in their school bags and bring them to the office. Alternatively, please call the school office so that you can speak to the team about dropping off your donation to the front of the school. All donations must be received by Friday the 27th of November to allow for the processing and distribution of all gifts in line with COVID-19 protocols.

    You can make a direct donation

    There is also an option to make a direct cash donation. All money donated to the Banyule Children’s Gift Appeal will be used to purchase toys and gifts for children under 12 and $30 Ultimate Gift Cards for children 12 to 16 years of age. Tax deductible donations can be made through Diamond Valley Community Support:

    Volunteer

    Banyule Council is also looking for volunteers to support the gift appeal by packing and delivering gift parcels and collecting donations. If you would like to volunteer email volunteers@dvsupport.org.au or phone 9435 8282.

    We understand that this has been a challenging year for many people within our school community so there is no pressure or expectation that everyone will be able to contribute to the 2020 gift appeal. The organisers of the Banyule Gift Appeal appreciate all contributions, no matter how small.

    Parent Opinion Survey

    The DET parent opinion survey is open until the 13th of November. The 2020 survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ and carers’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning. All families are invited to complete the survey using the log in details below.
