UNDERSTANDING AUTISM

Understanding Autism and Becoming More Inclusive

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As mentioned in last week’s Bulletin, teachers have been completing professional learning about autism and are planning activities for students, focussed on respectful relationships and inclusion. We are looking forward to Hoodie day on the 25th June, with more information about the day to follow. Please find below some information about Autism, contact details for Autism Connect and AMAZE, and a link to a wonderful short video created by Ryell K.

Ryell is in Grade 5 and excited to share some of the challenges he faced and overcame and what autism means for him. Every journey is different and it can be difficult getting support or having someone who has shared similar experiences. If you would like to connect with a parent from our school to talk through any challenges presented by neurodiversity, Ryell's mum Laila is more than happy to be available for that. Her email is LAILA.FERNANDEZ@GMAIL.COM"
