Principal's Message

Students in the yard
With the transition back from remote learning to on-site learning in full swing we have started to notice that some students are fatiguing quicker than normal. Students have been reminded of the school values especially the notion of respecting themselves and each other. This has not been something that has been noticed school wide, however I believe a proactive approach with this will help support our students with 2 and a half more weeks of on-site learning left. We would appreciate if a conversation around the dinner table could occur about how important it is to respect ourselves and each other, and how this leads to a positive learning environment for all.
Covid update
I would like to thank the proactiveness of the family whose child tested positive last week. By keeping their child at home as soon as they noted symptoms and subsequently getting them tested, we have so far avoided any further cases here at IEPS. I would like to reiterate the importance that if a child/family member has any symptoms no matter how mild, they should get tested and remain at home until they receive a negative result and are symptom-free.
In light of this, I would also like to reiterate the CHO still directs primary school students in Grade 3-6 to wear a face mask indoors at primary school unless a lawful exception applies. Parent/carers of a student/s who meet the criteria for an exception should provide their approval in writing for their child/ren to not wear a mask and send this directly to your child's teacher via email/compass. You are able to find further information regarding this via the following link https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/face-masks-when-wear-face-mask
Graduation
Thursday December 9th is our 2022 Year 6 Graduation. I am looking forward to the event and I’m sure our Year 6 students even more so. More information will come out directly to our year 6 families tomorrow regarding the logistics around the event.
On a separate note, I do apologise if you have tried to contact myself directly through the compass platform. I had unfortunately not been connected properly therefore was not able to receive messages. This has now been fixed and I am now contactable through the compass platform. Alternatively, you can reach me by calling the school or via email tom.boyle@education.vic.gov.au
