Covid Update
State-wide there has been an increase in Covid cases in schools. We remind our community that there are still a multitude of Covid safe measures in place and thank you all for continuing support in relation to this matter.
- Surveillance testing to occur each Monday and Wednesday via the RAT provided by the school
- If your child returns a negative result, but is still showing symptoms, please keep them at home
- Year 3-6 students are required to wear masks while indoors.
I recognise that many measures have changed in the wider community, however in an educational setting we are still required to follow these Covid safe measures.
Prep Enrolments for 2023
School tours are commencing next week (see below) and we have already started taking enrolments for our 2023 foundation classes. If anyone has a child in pre-school, please encourage other families to come along for a tour of our school, as positive ‘word of mouth’ is always the best marketing tool. Any family with a child starting school in 2023 should come in and collect an enrolment form, as it’s very helpful to get an idea of how many siblings we will have next year as soon as possible
School Tours
School tours will begin from Week 10 of this term, and will occur on a Tuesday morning & Thursday afternoon and can be booked through the front office. If you would like a tour prior to this, you are welcome to contact the office or the principal at tom.boyle@education.vic.gov.au
Canteen & Pizza Lunch
Unfortunately, Sonia is unwell which has affected our regular operations and we thank all the parent volunteers that have stepped in to allow our counter service to continue. Considering this we will be conducting a pizza lunch this coming Tuesday 29th of March. Please find booking/ordering information below for the pizza lunch next Tuesday. Do note that we are using the Trybooking service, not MySchoolConnect.
Punctuality
It has been noted that some students are being dropped off up to 10 minutes after the bell. Every morning classes start with community circle as part of our school wide positive framework. We are aware from time to time that the morning rush can get the better of us, however the expectation is that all students are in their classrooms by 9am. If your child is arriving late, you are required to sign them in via Compass at the office so we can update their attendance as per the DET regulations.
Use of school toilets
We ask that parents/carers do not use the school's student toilets after 8:45am and prior to 3:45pm.
Regards,
Tom Boyle

IDSSA – Soccer Tournament Update
On Friday the 18th of March IEPS competed in the annual IDSSA soccer tournament. With 26 teams in total, IEPS competed with 2 boys teams and 1 girls team. All students gave their best on the day and played with great spirit in every match. Both boys teams had some wins throughout the day however didn’t progress to the finals. On pitch 3 the girls team outplayed everyone and didn’t lose a game for the day. Winning both finals in a thrilling penalty shoot-out. A great effort particularly for a team of girls with very few full-time soccer players. Congratulation’s girls! The girls’ team will now progress through to Division in term 3. Well done to all students involved and thanks to all the parents and carers that came out to support IEPS.
Over the past week the IEPS swim team has been keeping busy with students competing at both the Division and Regional competitions. Both events were held at Watermarc Aquatic Centre and once again the strength of swimmers at IEPS was on show with 16 competitors at Division and 8 progressing through to Region. Congratulations to all the students involved and a special mention to Heidi Mitchell who has progressed through to the State level for Butterfly. Finally, thanks to all parents and carers that have come along to help out and support at these events.

Victorian State School Spectacular
On Tuesday this week we were so excited to host the Victorian State School Spectacular choreographers along with dancers from seven other schools for a mass dance rehearsal. Our 16 Year 6 dancers put in 100% of energy and had a really fun day. In an amazing effort, they learnt six entire dances! We can’t wait to perform at John Cain Arena in September and look out for us on the National TV broadcast in December.
