Covid Update
State-wide there has been an increase in covid cases in school
s. We remind our community that there are still a multitude of covid safe measures in
place and thank you all for continuing support in relation to this matter.
- Surveillance testing to occur each Monday and Wednesday via the RAT provided by the school. A set of RAT will be going home with all child on Friday of this week.
- If your child returns a negative result, but is still showing symptoms, please keep them at home.
- Year 3-6 students are required to wear masks while indoors
I recognise that many measures have changed in the wider community, however in an educational setting we are still required to follow these covid safe measures.
Kindergarten Visits & Pre-Prep Sessions
Anneliese Stabuli and I attended 7 kindergartens throughout the week. We took this as an opportunity for each kindergarten to get to know us and who we are, as well as read a book to the students and spend some time engaging with them. We believe this is a valuable process in connecting with our community.
There are also quite a few Pre-Prep Sessions that have been organised these sessions include;
- Pre-prep sessions which is a fantastic opportunity for prospective kindergarten children to experience a fun learning activity at IEPS with a Prep teacher
- Prep parent open mornings where prospective parents can visit the Prep classrooms at IEPS and see the fantastic learning experiences and opportunities that are provided for all students
- Prospective parent information night

On-site Assembly this Friday 1st April
We warmly invite you to an on-site assembly on Friday the 1st of April. This assembly has been organised to celebrate our 2022 student leaders, which will include a badge ceremony. In conjunction with this, we will be acknowledging the work that has gone on over the past two weeks as part of our Indi
genous Cultural Program.
Our captains and Robert Michael Young will share some of the work they have produced together and share some of the knowledge they have developed about indigenous culture. The presentation will include a smoking ceremony for the school community. Robert Michael Young is an accomplished Koori artist who has designed for Puma and the Richmond Football Club. He worked with our students before covid to complete the mural near the canteen. The assembly will take place on the school oval next Friday the 1st of April from 2.30-3.30 pm. We look forward to your attendance.
Regards,
Tom Boyle

The canteen will re-open tomorrow (Thursday 31st March) for lunch orders and counter sales. Please order by 9:30am through My School Connect.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped out in the canteen whilst Sonia was away. Given the short notice, the community support was wonderful and much appreciated.
We have a lot going on with the PTFA this month and you will have seen a number of communications coming your way. Thank you to Amanda Lynch and Emily Simkiss for kicking off the Class Rep process and providing the class lists out to everyone. It's a big and complicated job!
We will hold a Class Rep meeting early in Term 2.
It has been really great to welcome some new members to the committee and to be able to work closely with the school on planning some family events and fundraising initiatives.
Things to action or put in the diary this week are:
- Prep - Grade 2 end of term picnic - This Sunday 3 April at IEPS in the playground. No need to RSVP - just come along from 2.00pm with the family and your picnic fare.
- The Hot Cross Bun drive. Orders need to be in by the end of Thursday for delivery next week. Next Wednesday for Prep- Grade 2 and Thursday for Grades 3-6. We would we love some volunteers to help distribute the hot cross buns next week to the classes. Please email Helenmcbain@outlook.com.au if you have an hour or so on either morning to help.
- Mothers and Special Persons Day stall - Thursday 5 May. We will be asking for volunteers soon.
- School Disco - save the date for Friday 17 June. More info to come!
Have a great rest of the week.
