Covid Update
Illness
With a combination of Covid, Flu and Gastro circulating in the community it is essential that children showing any symptoms of illness are kept home until symptoms are fully resolved. Our best chance of keeping the school functioning as close to normal as possible, and protecting IEPS community members, is to keep illness out of the school.
RAT Tests
This Friday all students will be receiving another box of RATs. The ongoing supply of RATs to families in our school will ensure that parents and carers will have them should they need them if their child is a household contact or has symptoms.
If staff or students receive a positive test result at any time, they must report this through the Department of Health system (Rapid antigen tests | Coronavirus Victoria) or via the coronavirus hotline at 1800 675 398.
Students (or their parents) must also report a positive result to the school office, by written notification to ivanhoe.east.ps@education.vic.gov.au and tom.boyle@education.vic.gov.au This is so we can record that they will be absent while in 7-day isolation, provide support and learning materials as needed, and let the rest of the school community know there has been a positive case onsite and that they should monitor for symptoms.
Thank you again for your ongoing cooperation and support during this time.
Canteen Update Regarding Sonia Stier
I would like to personally thank, on behalf of the wider IEPS community, Sonia Stier for her tireless effort and selfless support of IEPS as our Canteen Manager. Sonia has formally handed in her resignation as she looks to spend some much-deserved time back with her family. We are excited for Sonia and her next chapter however she will be sorely missed as such a valuable member of our community. We have started the recruitment process to find a new Canteen Manager, who will start at the beginning of Term 3, and we will update the community on an outcome. We wish Sonia all the best and once again thank her for her tireless support and providing such an exemplary service to our community over the past 9 years.
Open Afternoon
Thank you to everyone who came out to our Open Afternoon to celebrate Education Week. A special mention for the following parents who gave up their time to help set the BBQ up; Andrew Jones, Shavaj Kallamkote and James Treloar. The turnout was fantastic, and the students were so excited to showcase their work to so many members of the community. The winners of our ‘Word Find Scavenger Hunt’ will be announced at our next on-site assembly. This assembly will be based on the weather forecast and we will notify the community the Monday prior of the next on-site assembly.
Extended Thank You to The Community
The family of a student who injured themselves on the playground earlier this week would like to extend their appreciation for the wonderful support they received from the community. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the community for their support towards each other especially in challenging times. This is a strength of the IEPS community and a testament to the members of our wider community.
Curriculum Days
A reminder that due to the Department of Education putting forward a change to Professional Practice Days for Term 2, and because of the scarcity of teaching staff to replace teachers throughout the state due to COVID and related issues, there will be a Curriculum Day on Friday 10th June. (Year 6 interschool sport will still run, and further information will come from Mr Bartlett close to the date.) A reminder that the first day of Term 3, Monday 11th July, will also be a Curriculum Day and OSHClub services will be available for both these pupil free days.

Hi everyone
Thank you to the Dads who kindly helped with the sausage sizzle on Tuesday. It was great to be able to be back in the classrooms and enjoy the school environment again.
An important announcement!!
We have a date for the 2022 School Fair – Saturday 3 December.
It gives us just over 6 months to pull it together, but with an engaged school community i think we can do it. I will be a great end to the year and a good opportunity to celebrate together.
We have the first meeting of the Fair Committee via Zoom next Tuesday (31 May) evening @7.30pm. if you would like to be involved on the committee please email helenmcbain@outlook.com.au and she will send you an invite.
After the first meeting we will be forming sub committees for;

- Stalls – class and community
- Marketing and communications
- Finance
We will let you know who the contact for each of those committees will be and you can also join one of those.
