2025 Classes & Workforce Structure
Creating classes for 2025 involved significant time and effort from our staff, who carefully considered numerous factors such as gender, academic needs, social dynamics, additional supports, student friendships, and parent requests. Our goal was to ensure that each student is placed in a class that supports their learning and development.
As part of our efforts to support smoother transitions between year levels, we ran two Step-Up sessions this year. These sessions, scheduled earlier than usual, provided students with valuable time to meet their new teacher and classmates, helping to reduce any uncertainties and foster excitement for the year ahead. For students requiring additional support with this transition, we encourage parents to reach out to their child's 2024 teacher to discuss any specific needs.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are planning to maintain the same class structure as in 2024, which was discussed and approved by our School Council Board. This will include 4 Foundation classes, 3 Year 1-5 classes, and 2 Year 6 classes, with an average class size of 22.14 students across the school.
I want to take this opportunity to inform our community that we will have 3 new staff starting at IEPS for 2025. All 3 staff have been present at our Step-up sessions and have begun working with their 2025 team in preparation for next year.
- Ms. Madison Brown – Foundation 2025. Madison has taught previously at IEPS and Caufield Grammar, before travelling to England and has now returned to Melbourne and we are excited to welcome her back to IEPS.
- Ms. Lizzie Jeffares – Foundation 2025. Lizzie has been running a kindergarten and been the kindergarten teacher, she is now entering the teaching profession and we are pleased to have her join our IEPS community.
- Mr. Connor Thomson – Year 4. Has taught previously at IEPS before travelling to England with his partner where he continued to teach and has now returned to Melbourne and we are excited to welcome him back to IEPS.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the following staff for their time at IEPS and wish them well in their future endeavors.
- Ms. Rebecca Naylor – Will be teaching in Bairnsdale in 2025 as her partner who works for the police force has been stationed there. We thank her for her commitment and support to all of the students she has taught over the years and look forward to welcoming her back when they return to Melbourne.
- Ms. Malia Fa-apoi – Will be casual relief teaching next year so she has the flexibility to travel as she is new to Melbourne. We will have her as one of our priority casual relief teachers.
- Ms. Rhiannon Fraiia – Will be studying in 2025 and will be casual relief teaching during this time. We will also have her as one of our priority casual relief teachers.
