Student Wellbeing
We have a whole school approach to student wellbeing which is underpinned by our school values of Respect, Friendship, Curiosity and Resilience. Our teaching teams work together to plan meaningful activities that support students’ wellbeing which includes:
- Community circle at the start of every day
- Calming activities after recess and lunch to prepare students for learning. This includes Smiling Mind and Yoga.
- Specific lessons from the DET Resilience and Respectful Relationships program and Smiling Mind
- The implementation of student developed Rights and Responsibilities
- Yoga lessons
- The House System which promotes a sense of belonging for our students
- The buddy program
We are proud of the work that our team has been doing to implement Smiling Mind practice for our staff and students and our school will be showcased in a video case study. Our Engagement team will lead a parent forum to share how we are using Smiling Mind to in the classroom and to show families how they might use Smiling Mind at home. In the meantime, further information can be found here:

Student Safety
Students are supervised at school from 8.45am until 3.45pm and teachers are on yard duty before and after school to ensure the safety of students. Students should not be left unattended in the school grounds outside of these hours and we remind you to book your children into OSHClub if they need to be supervised before or after school.
Please report any safety concerns to the school and when speaking to your children we encourage you to use the same language that we use in the classroom:
“No one should behave in a way that makes you feel unsafe or afraid, including anyone in your family, anyone at school or anywhere else in the community. Tell a teacher or any adult at school if your feel unsafe”. Again, please report any safety concerns to the school.
District Swimming
Congratulations to all of the students who represented Ivanhoe East Primary School at today’s Division Swimming event, we are proud of your effort and achievement. Thank you to parents and Mr Bartlett for supporting these students and we look forward to a detailed report in next week’s Bulletin.
East Ivanhoe Foodworks
We are very grateful to Paul, Debbie and their team at Foodworks for their ongoing support of our school and community. They are extremely generous and regularly make product donations to the school which helps to minimise costs and maximise fundraising opportunities.
